Man Arrested for Sexual Assault

A 15-year-old girl reported being sexually assualted by an adult man overnight Tuesday. The girl was reported missing Tuesday. She gave police the name of a man she said took her to a hotel after a community event and sexually assaulted her. Police tracked down the man and charged him with second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a child.

A man returned to his home at 66 Goodyear St. in Newhallville at 1:42 a.m. Thursday to find a bullet hole in the front screen door. A bullet remained lodged in the wall.

A man escaped gunfire after two men tried to mug him at 12:05 a.m. Thursday at Ferry and Chambers Streets in Fair Haven. The two men hit him in the head with a gun. When the victim fled, perps fired a half-dozen bullets at him. He escaped unscathed except for a slash in his forhead where he was hit.

And at 2:02 a.m. Thursday, a man was robbed of his cell phone and Yankees cap at Ella Grasso Boulevard and Edgewood Avenue.
