She plays better on grass. She has “great hands.” She made it to the final round at Wimbledon this year.

Marion Bartoli talked about all that Sunday — in English — as she met with the press at New Haven’s Pilot Pen Tournament, a veritable international village right here in Westville. Bartoli, the world’s 11th-ranked woman’s singles player, will appear later this week. Click on the play arrow to watch her remarks. The tournament made its top-ranked women’s players available to meet with the press Sunday to discuss the upcoming week, and their thoughts on the following week at the U.S. Open.
