Downtown Chaos Explained

(Updated) Downtown streets were chaotic this morning for three reasons. Those guys in suits and earpieces? They were guarding (for now) Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, who was in town for a talk. Meanwhile, according to mayoral spokeswoman Jessica Mayorga, an accident at Exit 43 on I-95 has sent streams of drivers onto Route 34. And the city blocked off Crown Street around the Macy’s building because the latest phase of ongoing demolition (pictured in file photo above) could potentially cause a public hazard there.
