Engineer Pleads Guilty In Dumping Scheme

Cromvijk.jpgPetros Renieris, chief engineer on the M/T Kriton, pleaded guilty on Friday to fudging oil records in order to conceal the overboard dumping of waste oil into international waters. He also admitted to destroying the “magic hose.” Click here and here for previous stories on the two-week trial in New Haven, after which a jury found the Greek shipping company Ionia Management guilty for its role in the illegal dumping scheme.
