Kids: BB Pellets Prompted Bullets
by Melissa Bailey | September 11, 2007 12:06 PM | Permalink | Comments (2)
Police heard eight shots from large-caliber guns pierce the West River air near Waverly Street at 9:15 p.m., according to police spokesman Officer Joe Avery.
A witness saw two boys riding away on bicycles, apparently fleeing the scene. Cops stopped the kids, who were unarmed juveniles. They told police that a friend had shot a car with a BBgun, at which point occupants of the car threatened to shoot them. No ballistic evidence or suspects were found.
Also Monday, witnesses saw two young men fleeing on trick bikes, and a car leaving the scene, after gunshots were heard at Chapel Street and Winthrop Avenue at 10 p.m. No ballistic evidence or crime scene could be found.

This is what happens in a town without a police force.

How did some kid, who was obviously being watched ("occupants of the car threatened to shoot them"), just raise a gun, BB or not, and fire? I mean, if I was at a red light and some kid or guy or whatever raised a gun to me I wouldnt have hesitated to shoot them from my car or if they were in front of me to run them down. Preservation of my life is my number one priority. My attorney will deal with the beaurocracy and politics of it all.
To think someone just sat there in the car and said "if you shoot my car, I'll shoot you." Something a little deeper is involved here. Normal people dont behave so stupidly.
My guess is everyone involved is either related or at least common aquaintances and the occupants of the car obviously knew the child that fired the BB gun at them and that he in fact had only a BB gun.
