Sixth-grader Giovanni Preciado counted down Wednesday to the placing of a construction beam atop the under- construction new $38.5 million home for the dual-language K-8 Columbus Family Academy. The building is scheduled to be ready by the fall of 2008 for Giovanni and his classmates, who currently inhabit swing space at the old Strong School. (Right-click on the photo for a better view.)
