Bank Robbed

Two men, one with a handgun, robbed the Bank of Southern Connecticut branch at 9:46 a.m. Thursday.
According to Officer Joe Avery, the men fled through the parking lot toward Walgreen’s. As of mid-day the police were still following leads, including viewing bank videotape. Avery said the cops didn’t know yet how much money was stolen.
Also, according to Avery:
Police received a report of gunshots and a victim being hit on Batter Terrace at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday. Police were unable to find the victim. They did find several fired rounds in one driveway, a holster and extra magazine of bullets in another. A witness said a group of males had shot at each other, then fled in different directions. The witness offered no description of the shooters.
Gunshots were also reported at Dixwell Avenue and Thompson Street at 11:24 p.m. Wednesday. An anonymous witness said a “newer model Audi with dark tints” had fled the scene. “Officers found two vehicles struck by a pair of gunshots.”
Someone broke into New Haven Discount Warehouse on Ella Grasso Boulevard by taking a rear door off the hinges. Cops got a call, showed up and checked the store; they didn’t find anyone inside.

Regarding Batter Terrace: Wednesday evening about 7pm I noticed perhaps six police cars along Chapel Street between Kensington and Winthrop. Some just sitting, some with roof lights on. That's quite a concentration -- I thought ID-Net sweeps were back. Clearly, something was going on. Another incident? Or continuing investigation?
