Brooks and Youmans are New Haven high-school students taking part in Reel News, a joint project of Youth Rights Media and the Independent.

Although the number of security guards and cops assigned to the school has remained the same as last year — eight and two, respectively — the Reel News team found an increased focus on safety this year.
