Abduction Attempted

A 14-year-old girl told police that a man tried to abduct her in the Beaver Hill area of town on Saturday.

Here’s what she told police, according to police spokesman Officer Joe Avery:

She was walking on Ellsworth Avenue, north of Whalley Avenue, at 9:14 a.m. Saturday when a man “called out to her to get in his car, due to the cold.” The man got out of the car and tried to pull her towards the car.

The teen fled to safety.

The victim described the perpetrator as a black male, six feet tall with a heavy build, wearing a North Face jacket and a black mask covering half of his face. The car, described as a black four-door with tinted windows, was last seen heading Northbound on Ellsworth Avenue towards Anita Street.

Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to call 946-6304 or 946-6316.
