It happened in Newhallville Thursday night.

Here is what happened around town overnight, according to Officer Joe Avery.

Two muggers, one with a silver handgun, accosted three men at Shelton and Thompson around 8:30 p.m. The muggers ordered the victims to hand over their cell phones … and their sneakers. The muggers fled up Thompson toward Dixwell.

Another pizza deliverer was robbed at gunpoint, this one from Empire Pizza. It happened around 1:15 a.m. Friday in front of 42 Mechanic St. A man in white T-shirt, armed with a long-barrel handgun, carried out the robbery.

Continuing problems at the Scott Ridge housing complex at 437 Eastern St.: Thursday evening cops received a call there from a woman who said she saw four men in a maroon mid-sized car stop at the driveway by the complex’s mailboxes. She was standing by the apartment buildings; she said they shot at her, then drove away. She said she didn’t know them. Cops found no shell casings at the scene.

“There have been a lot of problems at that complex,” Officer Avery said.
