R & R-obbery

A clerk was manning the R & R Food Mart in Fair Haven Tuesday night when two guys rushed into the store.

Here’s what happened, according to police spokesman Officer Joe Avery:

The perps pulled masks over their faces as they entered the store around 6:09 p.m. One, a 5’9”, 250-pound male, walked over to the clerk and demanded the keys to the store so they could lock themselves in during the robbery. When the clerk refused to give up the keys, the robbers took a few hundred dollars in cash and fled on Clay Street.

Meanwhile, the rival basketball match between Wilbur Cross and Hillhouse high schools went smoothly without any fights, Avery said.
