Two young men got shot near Dickerman Street Wednesday night at 8 p.m. According to police:
The men, aged 19 and 22, showed up at St. Ray’s ER at 8 p.m. One was shot in the left forearm, the other in the right wrist. They told police they were in their car at Orchard and Dickerman Streets when the car was fired upon. The car was found near the ER entrance with the rear window shot out. Both men were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Also Wednesday:
A woman was walking her dog on Front Street near Chatham Wednesday night at 8:14 p.m. when she was confronted by a man with a knife. He demanded her wallet. She had nothing to give him. The mugger, who was wearing a gray hoody, fled on Front towards Pine.
Hammer Attack
And New Haven Police belatedly report a robbery in East Rock Monday night:
A 28-year-old man was walking home on Nicoll Street near Eagle Monday night at 10:30 p.m. when two men came up to him, according to Lt. Rebecca Sweeney-Burns. They asked for his money and his back pack. He gave them some money. When the victim tried to run away, the suspects hit him on the head with a hammer.
