Teens Caught

Police spokesman Officer Joe Avery reports two attempted robberies Wednesday:

A person outside the New Alliance bank at 201 Grand Ave. was approached by two men. One pulled out a knife from his sleeve. The victim fled without being robbed. The perps were described as men in their 20s or 30s, both about 160 pounds, one wearing a gray hoodie, the other a black ski mask.

Two teens were arrested for allegedly trying to rob someone with a BB gun at Shelton Ave and Ivy Street. The victim was there at 9:03 p.m. when three teenagers pulled out what looked like a gun. The man ran home and called police before they could rob him.

Cops showed up and chased the three teens on foot. While running away, the suspects ditched a BB gun. Only two, both juveniles, were caught. They were positively IDed and charged with attempted robbery.

Thank you! Great job in the apprehension of the bb gun bandits! There are some really fine men and women who serve the NHPD and who care.

Living in Fair Haven and going to New Alliance, I would have liked more of a description of those perps. Maybe a camera on the corner would be a good idea, as there have been several bank robberies in that intersection.
