IMG_0954.jpgDetective Clarence Willoughby, who was arrested last week on charges of stealing police department money from an informants’ fund, will face a termination hearing on Feb. 21.

The detective (at left in photo) was arrested last week as the result of an internal investigation that sprung from an audit of informant funds.

His arrest warrant has been sealed because it contains sensitive information about informants’ identities, said Captain Joann Peterson, who heads police departments’ internal affairs department. She said she expected the warrant to remain sealed.

Now that a termination hearing date has been set, the city intends to move forward with a formal termination order, said Police Chief Cisco Ortiz. Charges will be served in the next few days, he said.
