Cops showed up to 376 Edgewood Ave at 5:09 p.m. Wednesday on report of a burglary. Two guys were spotted leaving the house. They told police they had been hired to “clean up.” After investigating, however, cops found out that the person who had lived in the house had been dead for years. Both were arrested for burglary.
And the city saw a series of attacks and muggings Wednesday night, according to police.
Wooster Assault
Two victims reported being attacked in the Wooster area Thursday afternoon, both by a group of about seven men. In the first incident, a victim was attacked and robbed of his iPod at Wooster Place and Greene Street . In the second, at Chapel and Union, a victim escaped the group before they stole anything. A 16-year-old and a 23-year-old were arrested for the attacks.
Yalies Robbed At Gunpoint
Three Yale University students were in the area of Elm Street and University Place when they were approached by an unknown man and robbed at gunpoint. The students described the perpetrator as “5’5”-5’6”, 25 years old, 170 lbs, clean shaven and wearing a black hoody and dark pants displayed a handgun( possibly a revolver).” The mugger stole $40.00, credit cards and a cell phone, then fled East on Elm Street.
Shooting
A victim told police he was at Winthrop and Percival at 9:12 p.m. when someone came up and fired at him, “without provocation.” He was shot in the left buttocks. A silver Nissan Maxima was spotted fleeing the scene with its lights off.
And over at 480 Sherman Ave. at 8:56 p.m., a victim told cops someone tried to rob him with a handgun. The victim fled, escaping robbery.
