East Shore neighbors: Lock your sheds and garages, warns Officer Joe Avery, the police department’s neighborhood services specialist.

Several homes have had their sheds and garages raided lately, Avery reported Friday. The burglaries have taken place “mostly north of Rt 80 to the North Haven town line.”

Protect yourself by locking your homes and call police at 946-6316 to report suspicious activity.

The burglaries have taken place "mostly north of Rt 80 to the North Haven town line." Every time I read or hear about problems in the East Shore I automatically think about the Annex and Morris Cove section of the city. Perhaps the "East Shore" means any area east of the Quinnipiac River and not the shoreline of the New Haven Harbor. I believe the term is used because of the location of the Police sub station and its mapped out district. When incidents happen north or south of Rt 80 perhaps using the "Foxon/Bishop Woods" term would better describe the area. Thanks Officer Joe for keeping us informed.
