Madison Man Sought Crack

Police report two robberies early Wednesday morning:
A Madison resident showed up at the Hospital of St. Raphael at 3:10 a.m. Wednesday with bruises from a beating. He told police he had visited the area of Kensington and Orchard Streets two hours earlier to buy crack cocaine. Two men approached him, took him into an alley and mugged him of 35 bucks, he told police. The suburban visitor walked to the hospital.
An hour later, a 21-year-old New Haven man told police he was walking home at 2:10 a.m. outside 57 Hazel St. when he was approached by two men. One had a sawed-off shot gun. The victim was robbed of his wallet. He escaped without injury.

And that, my suburban friend, is one of the many conveniences of living in an urban environment.
Your crack, asswhooping and hospital are all within walking distance.

......And we have homeless shelters and drug treatment places for when his habit gets worse...and all kinds of non-profits to help him get his life back together...we might as well start counting him on the census now.
Why do people have to use our city like this!

There's a guy in Hartford (his name escapes me at the moment) who keeps a watch on the arrest records. When someone from the burbs gets caught buying drugs or prostitutes in the North end, he with several others will go to the street of the arrested person with a bullhorn and announce loudly that someone from the block was caught doing their illegal acts in Hartford. I've been out there with him a couple times and both times the person we were talking about came out of their house and started arguing with us. We never identified the house or the person's name. Of course, once they came outside everyone knew who we were talking about.
I don't know if it curtailed them from coming in, I doubt it, but it sure made us feel good doing it.

Two more people, who are victims after other people complained about cops stopping people (for no reason). one gun and some crack that could have been found. instead, the cops are sitting on their hands so that they won't be brought up on charges by convicted felons. hope it isn't my family memeber that was victimized because cops are afraid to do their jobs and get accused.
