Officer Joe Avery, the police department’s neighborhood services specialist, sends along this alert:

“The Police Department wishes to notify residents of the Newhallville area of sexual assaults that have occurred over the past several months. These assaults have taken place in the area surrounding Dixwell Avenue and Brewster Street between the late evening and early morning hours, though police cannot at this time say whether the assaults are connected. They ask that the public be aware of their surroundings when walking outside during these hours. Please report any information regarding these incidents to the Family Services Unit at 946-6290 or 946-6304.”
