Three Mugged

The weekend saw a streak of robberies, according to city spokeswoman Jessica Mayorga:
Fair Haven Robberies
A man told police he was at the corner of Wolcott and Blatchley Sunday evening when two men approached him. They grabbed him, pushed him into a backyard, demanded his money and threatened to stab him if he moved. Robbers searched the victim’s pockets and retrieved his cell phone and three house keys. The suspects were two short men, one wearing a Yankee hat and one in a hoodie. They fled on foot.
A woman told police she was thrown to the sidewalk after her purse was ripped from her possession by two unknown men at 11:11 p.m. Saturday at Grand and Hamilton Avenues. One of the men shot a gun in the air as the suspects fled with the purse.
Downtown Mugging
A man told police he was jumped by five unknown men at State and Grove Streets at 4:59 p.m. Sunday. They attacked him, pushed him to the ground and took his cash. The victim to the Hospital of St. Raphael’s for a minor head injury.
Van Dome Fight
Cops working at the Van Dome club in Fair Haven broke up a disturbance late Saturday night. A 26-year-old man was arrested for gun possession.

Ok, do we need to have another person killed in Fair Haven before the police get these punks!
Undercover cops, put the squeeze on the neighborhood, whatever you got to do, get these punks. Why dont the police put some undercover cop decoys out there? Come on, this is serious, we've got to get these guys.
A guy firing a gun up in the air as they are running away from their latest victim. Geeze do you think this is the some ass who killed the immigrant last week? Did he learn now it is better to shoot up in the air?

Hey, cedarhillresident. I'm not sorry to correct you. Van Dome is in Fairhaven. You obviously have nothing better to do than to sit around and think(?) of quaint criticisms of our pd. Don't complain without offering at least a small solution. you sound like a newbe

That area around the Van Dome is indeed a no-man's land between Fair Haven and Wooster Square. Planners, neighbors, etc. have called it both. I tend to go with Wooster Square for several reasons. Most people consider Fair Haven's borders defined by the rivers; this area is west of the river, and not at all connected to Fair Haven's community. Also, it used to be very much a part of Wooster Square proper. Then came the highway. Mayor Lee's administration decided to take the opportunity to create an industrial zone there, since there already were factories and now it was cut off from the residential heart of Wooster Square. Extensions of streets like Wooster still continue past I-91 up to the river.
In short, I vote with Cedar Hill Resident.
