Persian Virtuoso Comes To Town

Imagine if Yo Yo Ma or Itzak Perlman had been born in Tehran. Then you may have a hint of the amazing sounds that were heard Thursday at the Yale Center for British Art.

The sounds came from a kemencheh, a bowed, spike fiddle played by internationally renowned Iranian virtuoso Kayhan Kalhor. If you missed it (or even if not), click on the play arrows for highlights of Thursday’s concert.
