Mila Rainof, 27, was pronounced dead at 9:23 a.m. Sunday, 24 hours after being struck by a small sports car at a busy intersection of York Street and South Frontage Road.

Police have not determined who was at fault in the accident, which happened at 9:45 a.m. Saturday. The driver has been interviewed and the accident reconstruction team is probing the crash, city spokeswoman Jessica Mayorga said.

One Survives Triple Shooting

Police have identified the second person who died in a triple-shooting this weekend. Justin Davis, 24, and William Burruss, 31, both city residents, died of gunshot wounds.

The shoot-out happened at 3:45 a.m. Saturday outside 143 County St. in the Dixwell area. Police were in the area at the time, and responded to a report of gunshots. They found the two victims above, suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were sent to separate hospitals by ambulance.

A short time later, police found a third victim, 22-year-old Christopher Duncan, at an area hospital. Duncan survived had surgery and his condition has been upgraded from “critical” to “fair,” Mayorga said.

No one has been arrested in the incident. “We’ve received some decent leads and detectives are working on this diligently, non-stop since Saturday,” Mayorga said.
