Cops saw a large group of youths in the field next to the school. As more officers arrived, some students fled toward Hill Central (Dewitt Street). One young man, 16-20 years old, was allegedly spotted reaching in his waist area and discarding a Remington 12 gauge Magnum shotgun. The teen fled over fences onto Dewitt Street and up Putnam. The runner escaped but cops kept the shotgun.

A school gym open in the evenings? Sounds like an after school activity for the teens. Good thing it was there to keep the thugs from their thuggery.

Like I said before, all the after school places, events and programs in the world won't prove more enticing to a criminal than crime.
