Two victims said they were assaulted by teens on bikes Tuesday night, according to police.

A 16-year-old boy was walking home from the open gym at Roberto Clemente school Tuesday evening when four or five men came up to him on bikes. One shot at him, striking him in the rear. The shooting happened at 8:14 p.m. at Washington and Daggett in the Hill.

Another man told police he was riding his bicycle east on Blake Street near Jewell Street at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday when he was approached by a group of teens on bikes. The victim counted eight to ten male teens in the group, dressed in black.

“He was knocked off his bicycle down to the ground where the group began to punch and kick him attempting to steal his bicycle,” according to a written police report. The victim held onto his bike and the suspects fled empty-handed East on Blake toward Osborn.”

Responding to reports of gunshots at 7:43 p.m. Tuesday, police found 8 shell casings near 405 Ellsworth Ave. The casings came from two guns — a 45 caliber and a 9 mm.
