Police have made a second arrest in a brutal home invasion on Loomis Place Tuesday night.
A 17-year-old was arrested Saturday in connection to the assault, in which three young men broke into an East Rock home, beat a house-sitter with a baseball bat and tied her to a chair before looting the home. The 17-year-old was charged with kidnapping, larceny, unlawful restraint and reckless endangerment, all int he first, as well as second-degree assault and “various conspiracy charges.” He was set to be arraigned in Superior Court after being held on a $500,000 bond.
A Restroom Fight
A 38-year-old New Haven man was shot during a fight in the restroom at Nikkita’s restaurant at 1:02 a.m. Saturday. He told police an unknown man burst into the restroom, brandished a gun, and ordered him to give up his chain. The victim refused and instead punched the aggressor in the face. The man with the gun then shot him in the stomach.
The victim was treated at Yale-New Haven Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Deliverer Mugged
A Domino’s pizza delivery man told police he had just dropped off some pies at 75 Level St. at 9:36 p.m. Sunday when a man put a gun to his head. The delivery man was robbed of two bracelets, two gold chains and $30. The perpetrator had a goatee and a very large handgun, according to the victim.
Disguise Fails
Cops tracked down a robbery suspect after a victim claimed to have recognized him through his mask. Complainants at 364 Sherman Ave. reported being robbed at 10:45 p.m. Sunday by two men. The men came onto their front porch, one wielding a gun. One victim was robbed of $40.
Though both attackers were wearing masks, one of the recognized one of them by his voice and the part of his face that wasn’t covered by the mask. Police tracked down the suspect the victim had described and arrested him.

Close down the nightclubs!
How many people need to get shot before the City does something?
