Police are still investigating a shooting Monday afternoon on County Street.
The victim was found at 4:20 p.m. Monday in the driveway of 167 County St. with “two or three” gunshot wounds, according to police spokesman Officer Joe Avery. Witnesses told police the shooter ran inside 140 Henry St. Police found a handgun in the rear yard. No arrests had been made as of Tuesday afternoon. The victim, who police now say is an 18-year-old from Townsend Street, was treated for “serious” injuries at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Chain Snatched
Also Monday, a man reported being robbed of his chain by two men at 7:31 p.m. at Whalley Ave and East Ramsdell. The victim said one of the men admired the chain and asked to look at it, then walked away with it. When the victim asked for it back, he got “pummeled” in the face and head.
