State law requires the City to hold two hearings in a prescribed manner before deciding to sell the transfer station property. Unfortunately, they already decided and the agreement was struck. This hearing is simply a way to make sure they followed the law after the fact. Since there was nothing different going to come from it, why attend this meeting. In terms of reducing notices.... Give me a break!!! They do a terrible job of announcing meetings. Look at the BOA agenda for last night's meeting, it wasn't even posted. I knew about the transfer station issue since Ken actually hunted down the information. To consider reducing, no existant information is a terrible idea. Why don't they have a list serv and allow people to sign up for all the meeting notices to be sent to people who subscribe. They could forward all attachments for the meetings in advance as well. This could be done with a simple yahoo list serv for the BOA at no cost. The management team does it with Google at zero cost. And they want to cut back on notices????

Count me guilty of being absent. Yea, I intended to go.
