“Wild Bill” Caught, Charged With Murder

The following is a city press release:

NEW HAVEN— This morning at 7:30 am, Billy Wright (a.k.a. “Wild Bill”)
turned himself into police. Wright was wanted in connection with the murder of 29-year-old Ronald Bethea at the Cardinals club, 320 Ashmun St on 4/27/08. Detectives Michael Hunter and Steve Teague were responsible for the investigation which led to the arrest warrant that was on file. Wright was charged with murder, reckless endangerment 1st, criminal use of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit. He was held on a one million dollar bond. No additional information is available at this time.
