Police are investigating two armed robberies within half an hour of each other in East Rock and Wooster Square Thursday night.

A man told police he was in front of 107 Cottage St. at 11:21 p.m. when a man came up to him with a gun. He was robbed of a cell phone.

Twenty-two minutes later, a man told police he was mugged at gunpoint at State and Olive Streets. The victim was robbed of an mp3 player.

Sgt. Pasquale Marino of the robbery and burglary unit said police were in the middle of investigating the cases, and were busy conducting interviews about the muggings Friday morning.
