ALDERMANIC NOTICE — NEW HAVEN

The Tax Abatement Committee will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, September 24, 2008, at 7:00 P.M, in the Aldermanic Chambers, 165 Church St., New Haven, to act upon the following items;

1. FROM MILDRED HARPER SUBMITTING A PETITION FOR ABATEMENT (DEFERRAL OF COLLECTION) OF TAXES DUE FROM 2003 THROUGH 2007 ON HER RESIDENCE KNOWN AS 255 STARR STREET.

2. From the Tax Collector, Order de Tax Refund (August 4, 2008, CSX Transportation Inc.)

3. FROM DALE LUCAS SUBMITTING A REQUEST FOR A TAX ABATEMENT ON THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 44-46 lIALAC sTREET.

These items are filed with the City Clerk and may be inspected at Room 202, 200 Orange St., New Haven. Per order: Mordechai Sandman, Chair. Attest: Ron Smith, City Clerk.

Immediately following the public hearing, the Tax Abatement Committee will hold a Workshop, with City of New Haven officials, to discuss the following.

a. Tax Forgiveness & Tax Abatement policies.
b. Tax reduction programs & how the City informs residents.
c. Collection methods (property & auto tax)
d. Payment options & Foreclosure policy.
