“For Mayor,” Dot Com

by Paul Bass | September 17, 2008 9:48 AM | | Comments (16)

DSCN9554.JPGBob Megna insists it’s all virtual.

A new web site, megnaformayor.com, is touting the east side state representative for New Haven’s top job. Check it out here.

The person or persons behind the site remain a mystery — including to Megna himself, he said.

“Are you serious?” he said when told about the site Tuesday. “I swear I had no idea about this.

“Is it good or negative? Believe me I never said anything about running for mayor.”

And he has no interest in running for mayor, period, Megna insisted. Website or no website. “I have no ambition to be the mayor of the city of New Haven,” he said.

He did have a question about the site: “How do we find out who did it?”

If anyone has a clue, feel free to post it in the comments section below.

Bob,

Listen to what you are being told here.
The people want you as mayor.
Bill Finch in Bridgeport holds down a State Senators job and the Mayors job.

whoo know one said they wanted him to be mayor. we just gave the info on who posted the web site. I do not know anything about him. I am positive there are others out there looking to run. He can through his hat into the race. But first we need to know him

A lot of folks remember good old Ed Schwartz from the new haven housing authority.

From the NH Register April 28, 2008:

". . . director Cynthia Newton and her deputy, Ed Schwartz, who allegedly downloaded confidential government files in order to cheat on federal housing inspections.

Reviews from U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development at that time were dismal. Numerous aging properties failed inspections and the agency received low marks for fiscal management. The Housing Authority was placed on HUD's "troubled" list for poorly managing its Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program."

Yeah, I would want Ed out there as my mouth piece too. Guess they are good buddies.

This is kind of exciting having one of our own going for mayor. I thought Rep. Megna supported the mayor? Am I wrong?

Does anyone know?

cedarhillresident: "no one said they wanted him to be mayor".

Whoever posted the website obviously does. And I'm sure he would get a lot of support if he did decide to run.

Deuce
At the time I posted that I was responding to Politico comment. "That everyone here wants him to run" Put at that point no ones comment stated that. And I also stated that not all know him but if he wanted to run go for it. But let the people know you. Please!!! If the man is capable I definitely would not stop him. In fact most would welcome him to the race.

eastshore guy...
i'm not saying Bob doesn't support the mayor ...democrats rule new haven for years...i work for the city and you are kind of forced to support him..i need my job...but i vote for who i want and yes it's not for Destefano.. as i will in Nov. election....

CHR,

Politico never said "everyone here" as if to imply the NHI readership. Go back and read the post. He was referring to the existance of the Megna website.

So I see it was shorted lived the website. It's down already - just like Fast Eddie Schwartz.
