Following a chase down I-95, cops arrested a man wanted for allegedly firing a bullet over a domestic dispute.
His apprehension Friday afternoon “represented the culmination of a day-long search” for the suspect, a search that began when he allegedly opened fire at a man in a car on Middletown Avenue this morning, city spokeswoman Jessica Mayorga said.
The man he allegedly shot at was his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend. The suspect, an employee of the United States Postal Service, was driving a USPS truck at the time. He ditched it in Wallingford and switched to a personal car. State police caught up to him as he fled on I-95, Mayorga said. The suspect was arrested and remains in police custody, she said.
Alleged Cop-Car Rammer Caught
A man who allegedly rammed head-on into a police car ended up in handcuffs.
The suspect, who’s 23, had fled from police during an earlier investigation at the Farnam Court housing projects, Mayorga said. Thursday evening, cops caught up to him by staking out his car. The suspect jumped in the car and rammed it into an unmarked cop car as he tried to escape. Cops caught up with the suspect and arrested him for a litany of charges, including possession of a gun and narcotics. Both officers in the cop car were treated for minor injuries at a hospital and released.
Teen Shot 3 Times
A 19-year-old staggered into a liquor store for help after he was shot three times by a gunman on a bike.
The incident happened at about 6:50 p.m. Thursday, according to police spokesman Officer Joe Avery. Police found the victim at Dixwell Avenue and Bassett Street.
Police believe the boy was shot at Dixwell and Willis Street, then ran a block away for help. His gunshot wounds, one in the stomach and two in the arm, did not appear to be life-threatening. The trigger-man fled on a bicycle.

I was complete disbelief to hear about the shots fired and chase to Stamford. I know this man and it was not in his nature to be violent. Tony is a good man , and I hope he get's the help he needs.
