I can't envision any business surviving near Brookside. West Rock and Brookside, historically speaking, has been an unsafe area. People are more likely to shop the Hamden side of Dixwell Ave. Brookside is also far from 91/95 and not all that close to the Wilbur Cross Parkway Westville exit. Ferraro's on Grand is the only place I can think of that attracts suburbanites in droves to a business in close proximity to a project.

As far as green beans, I'm going to try that recipe. I usually carmelize them with some teriyaki sauce and then add a little butter and garlic powder. :)

Translations for those that don't speak Yiddish/Jewish...

Meshuga: crazy, senseless

Oy Gevalt: "uh oh" (not literal)

Translations for those that don't speak non-Jewish...

balsamic vinegar: translates to "isur d'Rabanan" in Hebrew ("protecting you from good taste")

liberal: the people in the shul you don't/won't go to in Westville, although you've heard they're very friendly.
