Homicide Victim ID’d

Police have released the identity of a man who was found dead in the West River section of town Wednesday.
Hector Rosado, 53, of New Haven, was fatally shot in the lower back at about 9:06 p.m. Wednesday at Chapel and Hotchkiss Streets, according to police spokesman Officer Joe Avery.
Police found him lying face down in the street. They took him to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
He was the city’s 21st homicide this year.
Wooster Square Mugging
A man reported being mugged by two men in front of St. Michael’s Church Wednesday. The man was walking to work on Wooster Place from Green Street at 6:10 p.m. when two men pushed him and demanded cash. The victim was punched in the face by one man while the other went through his pockets. They took his wallet.

Great job solving the Christmas Lights Caper. I am so happy that Easter Seals will have their fundraiser.
Now do you think you could use the same resources to arrest these thugs who are terrorizing our neighborhoods? If you have not noticed, things seem to be unraveling in our city. People are being killed.

In the past an officer on foot patrol was present in Wooster Square for a few hours after dark to be sure that residents got home safely. Time for his return!
