White Powder Scare

Workers at a printing plant for the Knights of Columbus discovered an envelope containing white power Thursday morning. The powder was discovered at 10:46 a.m. at 78 Meadow St., according to police spokesman Officer Joe Avery.
As a precaution, officials jumped into protective gear, entered the building and retrieved the suspicious substance. The powder was taken to Farmington for further testing.
The plant reopened for business; the results of the tests will come back in a few days, Avery said.
