Crips Gang Busted
by Melissa Bailey | December 19, 2008 3:52 PM | Permalink | Comments (9)
Police have busted a gang that was using “intimidation and violence” to control drug trafficking on Stevens Street in the Hill, according to city spokeswoman Jessica Mayorga.
The bust came after an investigation by the Statewide Narcotics Task Force in New Haven, Mayorga said. Six arrest warrants were served Thursday in connection to the case.
Cops staked out a house at 48 Stevens St. for one month. During that time, they observed six people selling narcotics, Mayorga said.
On Thursday, police swept through the house and seized: A Colt .45 caliber pistol, $3,695 in cash, narcotics packaging material, as well as “Crip gang literature, Crip colored beads and Crip colored bandanas.” In a rear yard, cops also found two boxes of .357 and .40 caliber ammunition.
Two men, ages 22 and 29, were arrested on the spot. Four more remain at large, with active arrest warrants.

There are more in the city! We HAD the problem over here. But they moved to fair haven. But I think they set up again 2 doors down from where they where, different front (still in fair haven too this is their satalite office), because they know how often we get cops here.
I remember 2 years ago I was trying to tell the cops that they where in the city and they told me I watch to much TV. These are the guys that teach the kids! They take them under their wings and become their friends and the put them out! Cedar Hill, Fair Haven, the Hill and the Ville all have them! This is not news to those of us that live in these community's! It is just now that these guys have control of these areas and have become so very organized in this city. Now that the kids they have taught have graduated from street corner drug dealers in the low income areas, to armed robbers in the better parts of town they now have to do something about it!
hmmmm we reap what we sow.

One more thing...stop being a reactive police force and be a proactive one! We haven been telling you about this, you could of nipped it in the bud but you (ortiz) choose not to!! COme into these areas, the community's know where they are, we just got tiered of telling you! I can tell you where they are in my area and fair haven. And I am sure others can tell you in the other community's but guess what you would have to do something!

I think that all of New Haven is corrupt every single department from the top down. This city makes me sick its sad because I grew up here and I cant stand the amount of violence and ignorance set forth the lack of policing and organized community's. I have no faith in it what so ever and the police department they might as well be a gang too they are nomore screwed up then the gangs that are taking over this city.

Don't know about you guys, but I'm curious about what "Crip gang literature" looks like...

Cedar Hill Res.
Please define what you call Cedar Hill.
To me it is west or north of State St. from Willow to Grace St. or a little further.
Goes back to Rice Field, I think (At the foot of the Rock) or is that Blake?
Would appreciate your definition.
Thanks

Cedar hill is one of the oldest community's in the city. AKA the old Upper state street.
but here is a wiki page I set up that defines the area
