A 47-year-old man escaped injury Monday night when his wallet stopped a bullet before it pierced his body.

Two teenagers weren’t so lucky.

All three were victims of a shooting in the Dwight-Kensington area Monday evening. Five to six shots were fired at 7:02 p.m. at Edgewood Avenue and Kensington Street, according to police.

Three victims apparently scattered when the shots were fired. They were later found at three different locations.

A 19-year-old was found at 188 Edgewood Ave. with a gunshot wound to his back. He remains in serious condition, police said. An 18-year-old of Pardee Street was shot in his wrist. He was found at 307 Winthrop Ave. The man with the bullet-proof wallet was found on Howe Street.

One of the victims described the shooting as a drive-by. Police are still hunting for the shooter(s).
