Mission Accomplished!

city%20hall%20333.JPGSecond-grade teacher Lori Kozlowski sent in the following write-up:

My second grade class from Clarence Rogers School was totally
thrilled when they were given the opportunity to meet the mayor on May 6, 2006. They have
been studying the city of New Haven with their Southern Connecticut
student teachers since January. They came prepared to ask questions about
the mayor’s family, mayor’s salary, taxes, and the mayoral election.

One
of their last questions was about their school-wide end-of-the-year field
trip to Lighthouse Park. A couple of weeks ago they were told they weren’t
able to use the splash pad at Lighthouse Park. They were able to see the
mayor’s power at work as they pleaded for the splash pad to be turned on
for their field trip. The mayor had called Mr. Levine to help solve the
children’s pressing disappointment. Together they were able to make
arrangements to have the splash pad turned on for the school’s trip.
Mission Accomplished! Clarence Rogers School would like to send out a BIG
Thanks to the “mayor with the power”.

Very cute story. Think we can get the second graders to also ask the mayor to lower property taxes?

Great story! But why all the question marks? A better editing job may have been in order.
