The recently formed New Haven Help Alliance (a faith-based 501(c)(3) organization), under the auspices of its own “Poor Connection” arm is hosting “Voices of Hope,” a concert to raise awareness, volunteerism, and revenue to combat issues of poverty both locally and globally.

The concert will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Church on the Rock, 95 Hamilton Street, New Haven at 7:00 PM. Completely donating their talent for the event are Tapestry (a gospel jazz ensemble), R&B gospel singer Kenny Hamber, and Craig Amaker with the Cornerstone Choir. 70% of the gross proceeds will be contributed to the Connecticut Food Bank and the remaining 30% will go to issues of global extreme poverty. All expenses related to the event are being fully underwritten. Consequently, every dollar raised at the concert will go directly to the cause of poverty.

Tickets for the event are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children (12 and under). They may be obtained by ordering online at www.poorconnection.org/concert.htm OR by calling (203) 498-2687 to arrange pick-up at Church on the Rock. This great gospel night out is icing on the cake. It’s the cause that counts. If anyone would simply like to make a direct PayPal donation or support the work of the New Haven Help Alliance by making your Amazon.com purchases through the Poor Connection web site, please visit www.poorconnection.org.
