With a combined age of more than 2,600 years, this group of greater New Haven area Centenarians (persons 100 years-of-age and older) gathered for the Agency on Aging of South Central Connecticut’s 23rd Annual Centenarian Luncheon held at  the Jewish Community Center in Woodbridge.

May is Older Americans Month, with this year’s theme; “Living Today For a Better Tomorrow.” By 2030, one in every five Americans will be age 65 or older. The celebration of May as Older Americans Month began in 1963 and has become a tradition. It is a great opportunity to bring attention to the issues that affect older adults and create community-wide opportunities to help older Americans improve their quality of life. Each Centenarian was treated to lunch and received a special certificate from the Connecticut Commission on Aging.
