Peter Heyward, 65 went home to be with the Lord June 26, 2009. Peter was born September 24, 1943 in Ridgeland, SC to the late Richard Heyward and Mabel Simmons. He leaves to cherish his memory; Daughters, Monica Heyward and Josette Wilkins (Tiquon) both of New Haven; Daughter-in-law, Theresa Heyward of Hamden; Brothers, Donald and Alfred Heyward both of South Carolina; Sisters, Alice Proctor, Johnnie Mae Gray, Mary and Evangelist Dot Heyward all of New Haven, Willie Anne Burney of Hamden, Vernell and Telia Heyward both of New Haven; 6 Grandchildren; 2 great-Grandchildren and companion, Nancy Thomas. He is predeceased by his son Peter Heyward Jr.; Brothers, Joe Lewis, Richard, Jimmie, George, Henry Lee, and Charles Heyward and good friend, Lucette Housley. A celebration of his life will be held Friday July 3, 2009 at 11 AM at Bethel AME Church 255 Goffe Street New Haven, CT. Friends may call Friday at the church from 10-11 AM. At the family’s request, Interment will be private. Services by The Howard K. Hill Funeral Services 1287 Chapel Street New Haven, CT 06511. I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the Family. He is with the Father Our Lord, who will now take care of him he will not be in pain. I know he will be Missed by thoes will Love him. Josette I pray that you will see better days ahead of you.
