Sexual Assault In The Annex
by Paul Bass | July 16, 2009 4:15 PM | Permalink | Comments (7)
A woman was raped in the Annex early Thursday, police reported. She was walking around Huntington Avenue and Main Street around 2:15 a.m. when someone grabbed her, “dragged” her “behind a house, and sexually assaulted” her, according to Officer Joe Avery.
Shortly before midnight, a Metro Taxi driver was shot in the left arm in the West Hills neighborhood, around Mountain Road and Hilltop. He was treated at the Hospital of St. Raphael.
So was a man who was shot in the left of the neck and the left rear at Henry and Orchard streets at 12:53 a.m.

While the government spends zillions of dollars to fight a small number of terrorists, every woman who walks a street alone is at risk of violence in her own home, on her own street and in her own neighborhood. Rape is about power and domination.
Rape will end when men join with women to condemn this violation and humiliation of women.
Only the weak resort to violence.

We actual are spending a zillion dollars on social programs thinking it will appease the animals.

To truthtopower;
You are right, "Rape will end when men join with women to condemn this violation and humiliation of women.
Only the weak resort to violence."
So why remain a "sheeple"? Step out from your "comfort zone" and learn to use a firearm! Ask the NHPD to sponsor a "Female Firearm Forum". This "forum" could be linked to the NRA's training programs to offer a "basic" training for women only! This way, women would be with "like minded people", who feel the need for self protection. There are female training "counselors" for this purpose. I would like to see NHPD, in conjunction with the NRA, run a program like this. After all, in order to get a "concealled carry permit", one MUST pass a "background check" by their local Police Department. All necessary steps could be done at one time. What a time saver!
By the way, your last comment; "Only the weak resort to violence", is untrue! Only when the criminal "thinks" they can get away with their intended crime, will they do it! If the criminal thinks their "mark" can/will fight back, they WILL leave that person alone! After all, there are NO disability payments for a criminal "hurt" doing their "JOB"!
This is why the NHPD should PROACTIVELY train ALL who can legally AND morally carry a firearm, especially women and business{wo}men in general. The criminal element WILL think twice before assaulting someone who just MAY be carrying a firearm! If the NHPD did this in conjunction with the NRA AND the News Media, the crime rate would go DOWN!
The "convience stores" are really an "ATM" for criminals. They can take the cash out at any time. Why? Because of the long-standing desire of "management" to just "hand over" the money. I have known people who worked in those situations, and their managers had VERY different responses for each of them! From "acusing" their employee of being "in on the job", to firing them for "fighting back"!
I would volunteer my time to assist in the training.
Better to be "judged by twelve, than carried by six"!

Rape will end when men join with women to condemn this violation and humiliation of women.
Men and women joining together will not end rape anymore than doing the same will end murder. There will always be sick predators among us who prey on others. There is no real way to end rape but it can be reduced by as much as possible by locking rapists up forever. There should be no such thing as a "repeat offender" where rape or child molestation is involved. These criminals should lose the right to live among civilized people.
Only the weak resort to violence.
So was the US showing weakness by engaging in WW2? Was Pres. Lincoln showing weakness by fighting the Civil War? Was Obama showing weakness when he finally allowed the Navy to do its job and kill those pirates a few months back? Violence is a tool that has its appropriate uses.

The NHPD actively discourages citizens for applying for a permit. A few weeks ago my brother-in-law attempted to get the application on two occasions. The first time he was told they did not have any, the second he was told "they were not accepting applications at this time" a clear violation of state law. When I applied for my permit back in 2005 they tried to delay my application by asking me for items that are not required by state law in order to process my permit, like 3 letters of recommendation.

To Edward_H;
This attitude CAN be reported to the Board of Firearms Permit examiners. It has been a long time since I needed to contact them, so this might NOT be the right name, but check it out! They should be able to help your B-i-L! There is NO charge to ANY person contacting them for assistance!
You see, there is NO reason for ANY police dept. to limit a legitimate request for a permit!
Like I have posted, the strong/law-abiding DO in fact resort to violence!! It is ONLY after they are approached by the ne`r do well, that they are FORCED into defending themselves or ANOTHER innocent citizen!
"Fear a government that fears an armed citizenry"
I think this was from T. Jefferson {?}.

Gentlemen:
The anger unleased in your responses has little to do with what I was trying to focus on.
Rape is about the rapist's pathetic need to feel powerful by picking on someone less powerful - a child, male or female, a woman - old or young.
The truly powerful, competent men I know don't need to rape to feel powerful. Confidence breeds an inner sense of what's appropriate and their skills involve more than throwing a punch.
If a society is judge by how it treats its most vulnerable members, then we should celebrate our attempts, however flawed, to help those that need it.
No, I won't be joining any militias this week in Montana or wherever they're living these days. And I won't be signing up for any gun practice.
I think I"ll try to do an unexpected kindness somewhere and hope that it will be passed along.
If men were really serious about ending the violence against women, they would insist that other men speak about them with respect and they would set the example.
Now that's a powerful guy!

To truthtopower;
"If men were really serious about ending the violence against women, they would insist that other men speak about them with respect and they would set the example." Your quote.
I can only assume you also mean to end the violence against children too. It is people who, knowing they cannot change an individual from being a child molester or rapist, that insist we need to have more "dialog". Oh! yes! Let's talk nice about people, then others will "feel" our message!
Who was responsible for the dialog with John Couey? Remember him? He was the one who repeatedly raped Jessica Lundsford, over a period of several days, then buried her ALIVE!
There are "monsters" among us who need to be delt with! These "monsters" are not like "Puff the Magic Dragon", or "Drago"! They are of the kind the Knights of old went forth to SLAY!! Why? Because they knew there was NO redeeming value in them! They felt they were there to kill the people, and so they had to be delt with!
It is a known fact that these "monsters", while in jail, are model prisoners. They are, mostly, mild mannered, docile, people. What MOST people don't know is, it is ONLY because the "object of their desire" is NOT available to them in prison!! It is also a known fact that they are at the TOP of the "recidivism list"! Once they are releassed, it is NOT a matter of "IF", but WHEN, they will attack again!
Put them in jail, and leave them there! Save a child or woman!
As for being a "powerful guy", let me add that I have NEVER had a woman ask me how to have a "dialog" with their attacker! They have ONLY wanted to know how to STOP THEM! So I show them! There are a few DOZEN women out there, that have more "power" in their brains AND index finger, than their potential attackers could ever have for their whole bodies!
Do you remember what used to be "taught" to women? That it was far "better" to SUBMIT to a rapist, because they would be "less apt to be physically hurt"! PLEASE, tell me you are NOT one of these people! It was ALWAYS my opinion, that the ONLY people who wanted women not to fight back, were those PERPETRATING the crimes! If they had NO noticable "scars" they could NOT be identified!
As for "only the weak resort to violence", does that mean Obama, who is raising the number of US service[wo]men in Afganistan, is weak?
Please, go back and read the 2nd paragraph of my last post {July 20, 2009 3:23 PM}. I believe it explains the "strong persons" needed response.
