Statutory Notice of Meeting to Nominate Minor Party Candidate

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to CT General Statutes Sec. 9-452a, as Co-Chair of the New Haven Green Party, I hereby provide statutory notice of a Green Party meeting, as the presiding officer of such meeting, to be held:

Date: Tuesday, July 7, 2009
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location: 188½ Willow Street, New Haven (Archie Moore’s Bar & Restaurant)
Purpose: Nominate Green Party Candidate for Ward 10 of the City of New Haven and for any other municipal office.

Nominations shall be accepted from the floor. Only registered Greens who are residents of the City of New Haven and are present at the meeting may be nominated. Only registered Greens who are present at the meeting are eligible to vote. The nominee must receive support from a simple majority of those who actually vote. If there is more than one person nominated, instant runoff voting will be used and abstentions will not be counted as votes.

Why Can't you nominate others besides Greens to run as Greens? It would be great if you nominated Ralph Ferrucci who could then run as an Independent and a green party candidate..... what about Erin Pasquale in Fair haven, she would be a good Green party candidate. Or Ronald Lemar in East Rock?
