Drinkers Robbed By Masked Men

The victims said hundreds of dollars were stolen from them.

Here’s what happened, according to police spokesman Officer Joe Avery:

Two men were sitting in their car drinking on Tuesday at 2:12 a.m. on Hallock Avenue. Multiple people with masks appeared and robbed them at gunpoint. The bandits got away with cell phones and between $250 and $480.

At 1 a.m., a man on Winthrop Avenue was mugged and stabbed by three men. He said that he was walking from a store near the corner of Derby Avenue and Norton Street when three males approached him and asked him for “his stuff.” One of the men stabbed the victim in his left leg with an unknown object. He was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

I quoth: "sitting in their car drinking"...
Wow, was there a DUI along with this for the victim? If there wasn't, there probably should have been.
Ah, New Haven.
