The victim was walking in Dixwell on Monday evening when someone snatched his money right out of his hand.

Here’s what happened, according to police spokesman Officer Joe Avery:

At 6:30 p.m. on Monday, a man was walking near Dixwell Avenue and Foote Street with $20 in his hand. Suddenly, someone grabbed it and jumped into a light blue Volvo. The robber was later found and arrested.

In other police news, according to Avery:

A man was robbed by four or five men as he walking to a package store. The men followed him to the rear of a house on Lander Street. Three of the muggers had guns. They ordered him to the ground and took his cell phone and house keys.

Seven gunshots were reported near Grand Avenue and Maltby Place around 9:40 p.m. on Monday. Police found four shell casings, but no victims.

A mugger punched a man in the face on Ferry Street at 3:40 p.m. on Monday. He took $200.

At 6:03 p.m. on Grand Avenue, a man punched a victim and took $220. He fled on a ten-speed bike.
