Felon Nabbed After Foot Chase

The cops showed up Fair Haven after a tip about a weapon. They found four “subjects” there. One of the four broke away — and the chase was on.

Here’s what happened in the Wednesday afternoon incident, according to police spokesman Officer Joe Avery:

The police tried to stop that one man at Clay Street when he hoofed it. Officers followed on foot. They caught up with him — and found a silver .25 caliber handgun on him. The man, a 24-year-old convicted felon, was arrested on gun-related charges.

In a separate Fair Haven incident Wednesday night, an A1 Pizza delivery man got mugged on Richard Street, according to Avery. A man there called for a pizza. He asked the deliverer to bring the pizza to the porch. The deliverer approached; two more men appeared from the sides of the house. “One pulled a gun and took $40 cash, pizza, and the delivery vehicle. One [took] the vehicle; two ran into the rear yards. Police located the vehicle one block away.”

I'm so surprised that delivery places still deliver. Huge risk.
