After gunshots were heard in Newhallville, a neighbor found a bullet lying on her bed.

Here’s what happened according to police spokesman Officer Joe Avery:

Patrol officers heard gunshots at 12:35 a.m. on Sunday in the area of Shelton Avenue in Newhallville. The ShotSpotter system confirmed the location of the shots. Officers responded and found several people running away. A woman reported that a bullet had come in her window. The bullet was found lying on a bed.

In other police news, according to Avery:

On Thursday, a man told police he was mugged at Academy and Court Streets at 5:55 p.m. He was approached by a man in a ski mask who simulated a weapon of some kind. The mugger took a wallet.

On Friday, police received an anonymous call that eight gunshots were heard at Truman and West Streets. A police search of the scene yielded one spent bullet fragment.

A man told police he was robbed on Saturday at 4:14 p.m. at Court and Olive Streets. The muggers were two teens who the victim knew. They took his cell phone and $11 cash at gunpoint. Police located the suspects, arrested them, and recovered a silver toy gun.

A pizza delivery man was robbed on Ferry Street at 11:54 p.m. on Saturday. He had just delivered a pie and was walking back to his car when he was approached by a man in all black, with a full face mask. The mugger had a knife. He demanded money and took the victim’s cell phone and $75.
