Shotgun Snatched

Police are looking or a man who escaped, but left behind a sawed-off shotgun, after a Newhallville chase.

Here’s what happened, according to police spokesman Officer Joe Avery:

Officer Robert Hayden stopped to talk to a man at Shepard and Read streets at 5:43 p.m. Tuesday — and the man bolted, into a rear yard, then on Shepard, then Huntington. Cops “found a .22 cal sawed off shotgun, with a laser sight and fully loaded larger capacity banana clip” in the fleeing suspect’s wake.

The police ask anyone with information on the suspect — described as black, male, five-foot-nine or ten, around 160 pounds, with a tan army jacket and ski mask — to contact them.

I'm sure "Sawed-off shotgun" sounds sexier, but there is no such thing as a .22 cal shotgun.

A .22 cal is a target and small game RIFLE they are not usually cut off, it was most likely a carbine which is made with a shorter barrel. A sawed off shotgun sounds cool and sounds more menacing than a .22 cal rifle. don't get me wrong the .22 can kill someone as well, but it is not the first choice for criminals, so let's not start this anti shotgun movement. Shotguns are used by many many Americans for skeet shooting, which is an internationally recognized sport, (even in England) where most guns are banned.
