Police came armed with seven arrest warrants. They left with two women in handcuffs.

That was the result of a pair of side-by-side drug raids at houses on Whittlesey Avenue on Wednesday. Police were able to locate and arrest two of seven individuals wanted on drug charges. They also seized a variety of drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a handgun.

Here’s what happened, according to police spokesman Officer Joe Avery:

At 6:45 p.m. the department’s narc squad executed a planned search and seizure operation at 17 and 19 Whittlesey Ave. They had seven arrest warrants in hand but they were only able to locate two suspects, a 21-year-old and a 22-year-old woman.

While no drug evidence was recovered from 17 Whittlesley Ave., police seized the following from 19 Whittlesey Ave.: two grams of heroin, 41 grams of marijuana, 2.8 grams of crack cocaine, a loaded 9mm Luger handgun, and drug paraphernalia.

The arrested women were charged with a variety of narcotics charges, including intent to sell near a school and risk of injury to a minor. The search for the remaining five suspects is ongoing.

In other police news, according to Avery:

A Downtown Pizza delivery man was robbed at 40 Webster St. on Monday at 9:05 p.m. He was called to the address and then approached by two men with guns who took his money.
