Parents Seek Role In School Budget Cuts

Christopher Peak PhotoAs the Board of Education considers $10 million in cuts (about 5.1 percent of next year’s total budget), a new citizen watchdog group weighed in with some advice.

Pushing for more accountability from the school board, the group issued a statement Friday urging officials to spare classrooms from cuts, hire auditors, appoint community members to review the budget, and release information about hires and contracts.
