A Family Dynasty Falls

(Updated 5:51 p.m.) A family bail-bond dynasty may have ended as three members of the Jacobs family pleaded guilty Wednesday to bribing a top city cop. Defense attorney Willie Dow (pictured) predicted that it could cause a “disaster” for the court system if the Jacobses now lose their licenses.

Murder Suspect Arrested

Police have arrested a 40-year-old city man in connection to a summer homicide. The suspect was charged with first-degree manslaughter for allegedly stabbing 42-year-old George Williams to death at 58 Saltonstall Avenue on August 25.
Read on for more crime details, according to police spokesman Officer Joe Avery.
A man told police he was sitting in the car with his girlfriend at 9:12 p.m. at 140 Canal St. off Winchester Avenue when a man came in, tossed his girlfriend out of the car and put a gun to his head. The perp demanded money. He took a wallet with $40, but when that was not enough, he struck the victim in the head with a gun and stole his iPod and cell phone, according to the victim’s testimony.
